Look, I’m as annoyed about the weather as you are. I mean, it’s April, and I dunno about you, but I heard hail (or was it sleet?) outside my window on Tuesday night. But hey, it’s Friday.
Peak’s rocking the normal hours this weekend – tonight until 10pm, 10am-10pm tomorrow. We will be closed on Sunday for Easter. Have a great day and play outside! Open Climb hours are 11-4 Saturday. Come say whatup.
Sunday is also the Easter Parade down Broad Street, which should be an awesome time…unless you live in the Fan area. Monument between Allen and Davis will be shut down for the parade, which takes place from 1-5. Plan your movements accordingly, or you might get stuck.

A little bit of climbing world news
At least twelve Sherpas were killed in an avalanche on Mt. Everest this morning. Reports say they were affixing a rope for climbers to ascent that day when the avalanche hit. Rescue helicopters were dispatched immediately and as of this writing the search effort is ongoing.
Far from the “I climb it because it is there” mentality of George Mallory ninety years ago, Everest has become accessible for anyone with the means to pay for the expedition. Whether this is good or bad is often the topic of debate – what do you think? Access means more people will appreciate the natural beauty of the mountain; it also puts more people at risk and leads to the deaths of the Sherpas, who are put at extreme risk because of the mountaineers they support. Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
